After my last post on the current “next gen” Catholic youth, I found the following very interesting video:
On HeliegenKreutz’ Youtube channel, they interview one of the few seminarians in the Catholic Church in Holland. He talks about the straits that the incredibly Catholic country underwent in the years following the Second Vatican Council, talking about the heretical trends that overtook his home nation. However, when asked what most excites him in becoming a priest today, he has a great answer: he gets to sacrifice more than other seminarians in the past. I have personally felt this in my own call; seminarians today are called to make significant sacrifices which will only redound to the greater holiness of our next generations of priests.
His last encouragement is a doozy: we should grow in silence and in love of God.
Quod erat demonstrandum.
Yours in Christ,
Br. James Dominic, OP
