Birthing the New Translation

Reading Brethren,

I wanted to share with you this very moving liturgy composed by the liturgy committee of the United Church of Christ.

In the spirit of the new translation, I think we should take a moment to express our love of the Mother Goddess’ gift to us in the editio typica of the Third Edition of the Roman Missal which came down upon our US Church like the dewfall this past weekend.

Stir up, O Lord/Dame God/ess, our hearts, as we graciously beseech Thee:
On the Birthstool

I’ve only got one thing to say to that:

And with Her Spirit!

Oh, she is so scandalized!

Even Sophia Loren can’t get why all these crazy ladies are calling on her for “birthing the Spirit” and whatnot.

People that compose prayers to “Godesses” should be doing something more productive, like baking cakes for Papa Benny (maybe even SOULING cakes?!?!).

Yours in Christ,

Br. James Dominic, OP
